Patriot Lacrosse Boys Spring 2021 Registration

Formation of Teams:
The Patriot Lacrosse Club mission is to teach youth athletes the life lessons of skills development, teamwork, safe play, and sportsmanship in both a recreational and developmental environment along with a competitive environment that prepares these young athletes for high school level competition. With that said, Patriot Lacrosse strives to develop basic skills at the younger age groups to assist in player development while forming competitive teams and recreational teams in the U11, U12, U13 & U14 divisions. Patriot Lacrosse will register teams in the following divisions: U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14. We may look at forming other teams at other age divisions based upon registration numbers at the age level.

U7, U8, & U9 Teams:
U7 - U9 will play Short-sided games in a 7v7 format. Instead of playing on a regulation sized lacrosse field, they will play side to side on a regulation sized field with a width determined by the restraining box and end line.  Outdoor practices (2 times per week) will begin the last part of Feb.  Practice location, dates, and times will be determined by Patriot Lacrosse.  As in years past, each team will participate in the SOCO kickoff which will be held in March (date/time TBD). The Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association (CYLA) season will begin in March and run through June 2nd. Games will be played on Saturdays and some Sundays at outdoor fields throughout Colorado.

U10, U11, U12, U13, & U14 Teams:
Outdoor practices (3 to 4 times per week) will begin the last part of Feb. Practice location, dates, and times will be determined by Patriot Lacrosse.  As in years past, each team will participate in the SOCO kickoff held in March (date/time TBD).  The Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association (CYLA) season will begin in March and run through June 2nd. Games will be played on Saturdays &some Sundays at outdoor fields throughout Colorado.

We encourage everyone to register as soon as possible making our planning for the season easier. To register select the "REGISTRATION" button on the right menu and select "Registration Forms".

Rules of Play:
CYLA’s rules for play are primarily based on the 2019 US Lacrosse Rules for Boys Youth Lacrosse which can be found "here".

Wait Listing:
Following CYLA/US Lacrosse recommendations, Patriot Lacrosse team sizes will be capped at 25.  Competitive teams will be capped at 18.  When the registration numbers in a division hit 43 players, all additional players will be “wait-listed”.  Wait-listed players not added to a team will be given a refund on their registration fee.

*You must register and pay to attend practices! An account credit from a previous season does not mean your player is automatically registered in the Spring 2021 season. The only way to have your son/daughter officially placed on a team roster is to register through the system and sign ALL waivers.

*Note: Spring 2020 shutdown carryover credits will be applied to your balance at checkout. You'll see your credits AFTER clicking "Pay Now" and redirected to enter your payment method . You can check your account balance and view account credits by clicking 'My Account' on the Patriot Homepage. Please email Brianna Bruce at patlaxtreasurer@gmail.com with questions concerning account balances or credits.

Return to Play Update: We have adjusted the way we conduct our practices to fall in line with the guidelines outlined in the U.S.. Lacrosse Return to Play handbook. We will implement the U.S.. Lacrosse Stage 3 guidelines for practices. Key components to our fall season are as follows:

1.    All players are required to have a valid US Lacrosse Membership, click "here"

2.    Players are asked to not attend practice if they or a family member feels ill in any way

3.    Players are not allowed to share items (water bottles, clothes, equipment, snacks)

4.    Hand sanitizer will be provided, and players will be asked to use before entering the field and after breaks

5.    Player contact is to be limited between each other

6.    Players are asked to keep 6 feet apart when not actively engaged in a drill

7.    Players are required to have face protection on or readily available (we can see this as a neck gator around the neck while practicing)

8.    Players are required to notify coaches if they feel sick at any time during the season

9.    Coaches are always expected to have face protection on while on the field

10.  Coaches will provide practices that challenge players while adjusting for safety protocols

11.  Parents/players will be required to sign the new COVID-19 waiver

12.  Additional adjustments may be made based on need
